Who are we?
We are a group of Christian volunteers connecting
the medical, educational and daily living needs of those we serve in
the third world and the US with the means to meet their needs. We cross cultural, religious and ethnic boundaries to help as we are asked. We serve children and their families in multiple ways, sometimes bringing them to the US for help, and sometimes traveling to their home countries to help people and professionals attain the skills to meet the needs in their own communities.
Where do we work? Currently we have active projects in Ethiopia, El Salvador, Ghana and the United States.
We have recently served in Peru, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. We have worked in over 18 countries world wide.
What we accomplish?
Medical: We train health care providers in third world countries by sending doctors and support personnel to teach local doctors and nurses in techniques and procedures not currently in practice in their areas. We also supply necessary supplies and equipment to train and continue the practice of learned procedures.
For patients needing complicated
procedures that can not be performed in existing local medical
facilities, we bring patients to the US, provide host family homes with
pre-operative and post-operative care. Some of our patients have
physical problems not seen in the US. We take these opportunities to
give US doctors the unique opportunity of working with these patients
and learning new skills. And finally, we host international medical
teams and provide them with learning opportunities.
